Special Topics : Energy Trade and Risk Management (IAM750)

Course Content: The course will follow two main textbooks and selected articles from scientific journals. Course will be supported by the presentation and speeches of guest speakers.

Learning Outcomes: Course participants will be able to understand the risks inherent in energy markets. This understanding will enable them to analyze and assess the price fluctuations and volatility of energy-related commodities and hedging strategies to minimize the risks. Course participants will also have a broader view of energy politics and strategies on an international basis.

Course Aim: This course discusses financial risk management from the perspective of energy. Course focuses mostly on the energy market, energy trading and energy risk management through various instruments. The topics also cover the interest of hedge funds. A special attention is also given to behavior of energy-dominant sovereign wealth funds.
