Dr. Akçaoğlu is an associate professor of finance at the Department of Air Transportation Management, the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association. He is also Head of the Department. He has taught courses such as ‘international trade and project finance’, ‘international finance’, ‘international banking’, ‘multinational corporations and foreign direct investment’, ‘export marketing’, ‘international trade and investment’, ‘legal structure of international trade’ and ‘international trade and investment policies in Turkey’. He had earlier served as an assistant professor of international trade and investment at Izmir University of Economics, as a research assistant at the Loughborough University Business School and as an adjunct lecturer at Çankaya and Başkent Universities. Before moving to the academia he was Underwriting Manager at Turk Eximbank, the Turkish official export credit agency. He has also consulted for UNCTAD on FDI-related issues. Mr. Akçaoğlu holds a bachelor’s and a MPhil in economics from Hacettepe and Loughborough Universities, and a PhD in business from Ankara University.
